Arizona Game Fair, the largest tabletop-gaming convention in Arizona, announces that Scorched Earth Open, the state’s premier 40k tournament, will take place March 21-22, 2020 at the Fair.
“We’ve been working hard to bring top quality events to the Fair, especially miniatures,” said Arizona Game Fair founder Andrew Long. “This is just the first step in that process.”
Arizona Game Fair will provide the space and tables for the tournament. Scorched Earth Open will continue to be owned and run by tournament organizer Eric Cacace. “It is incredibly exciting to be a part of the Arizona Game Fair. Together, we plan to deliver an amazing gaming experience and become the next destination event for all gamers,” said Cacace.
Cacace has been running the 40k tournament for 6 years now. Last year’s tournament hosted 46 gamers. The tournament will host a maximum of 60 players for 2020. The cost to enter will be $5 and require an Arizona Game Fair badge. Badges and tournament tickets will go on sale September 1.
Arizona Game Fair will be March 20-22 at the Mesa Convention Center. The convention is in its fourth year at this location and provides a wide range of gaming, including board games, role-playing games, miniatures, and trading card games. The Fair is known for its large game library and open gaming. It also provides exhibitors, scheduled gaming, tournaments, events, and industry guests. Last year the Fair had approximately 1,200 attendees.
